David Powning is a writer, a musician and a world traveler. His articles have been published in USA Today, the Washington Post, Washingtonian Magazine, and Road Trip USA. He has been featured on NPR's Weekend Edition and National Public Radio's Morning Edition. In 2003 Powning was nominated for a National Magazine Award for his article “The World’s Happiest Family” published in Washingtonian Magazine
He has also authored two books: “A Road Trip Through America’s Peculiar Cities” and "A Road Trip Through America’s Great National Parks". He lives with his family in a small town in upstate New York.
